Dear NCOs,
I would like to share some of my views regarding the interview today.
First of all, an interview is not supposed to be taken lightly. Being unserious and arguing with the interviewer even before the interview started is not going to help you pass the interview, having outstanding qualities is no exception. Although it is important to remain relax and not to get stressed out, committing the mistakes as mentioned prior had already given the interviews a bad impression about you.
Next, giving ¡®model¡¯ answers is not going to help you during the interview. By thinking of those answers during the interview, you are just creating additional stress to yourself. There is also a possibility that the interviewer may detect hypocracy in your answer.
You may also want to take note of your body language, like sitting up straight instead of bending your body and maintaining eye contact with the interviewers instead of looking at the ground. This may take time to learn.
Avoid giving one word or one line answers most of the time as the interviewers may have to exercise their deductive skills if you do not elaborate well enough. Usually they are critical of your evaluation skills. Also, you need to show your enthusiasm in answering the questions so that interviewers will be better impressed or convinced.
Furthermore, I was unsure if anyone of you did this ¨C memorizing answers as you anticipated some of the questions. Although it is understandable that most people will do this, avoid doing this too often as you are just stressing yourself.
Nevertheless, this are just my opinions based on past experiences. You do not have to entirely agree with my opinions. I hope you will not regard the interview as merely a step to get your SSGT rank, but rather an experience that will help you prepare better in the future.
